Chemical Risk & Safety Phrases

Dalam bahasa Inggris dikenal dengan Risk & Safety Statement. Dalam bahasa Indonesia kurang lebih berarti pernyataan atau pemberitahuan tentang resiko dan keselamatan bahan kimia. Ini adalah sebuah sistem kode pada setiap jenis bahan kimia berbahaya yang ada di sekitar kita.

Misalnya, jenis bahan kimia hydrochloric acid memiliki jenis resiko R: 34-37 yang berarti mengandung resiko 'penyebab kebakaran (kulit)' dan 'iritasi sistem pernafasan'. Keterangan tentang resiko dan keselamatan ini HARUS dicantumkan di dalam MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) sebuah bahan kimia.

Ketika daftar resiko kimia tersebut dicantumkan di dalam MSDS, akan sangat bermanfaat bagi retailer atau pengguna yang lain untuk segera mengambil langkah pencegahan apabila terdapat bahan kimia atau substansi yang berbahaya.

Lalu apa saja daftar resiko dan keselamatan tersebut? Di bawah ini adalah daftar kode yand telah digunakan secara internasional dalam bahasa Inggris.

R1: Explosive when dry.
R2: Risk of explosion by shock, friction, fire or other source of ignition.
R3: Extreme risk of explosion by shock, friction, fire or other sources of ignition.
R4: Forms very sensitive explosive metallic compounds.
R5: Heating may cause an explosion.
R6: Explosive with or without contact with air.
R7: May cause fire.
R8: Contact with combustible material may cause fire.
R9: Explosive when mixed with combustible material.
R10: Flammable.
